Mardi Himal Trek
Though Pokhara is the city of Nepal which experiences rain the most, Mardi Himal Trek can be trekked during the summer/monsoon season too.
Mardi Himal Trek is a short trek starting from Pokhara. This trek is a great way to get a taste of Nepal's mountains for people with limited time. It encompases breathtakingly gorgeous forests along with Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Annapurna I, and Mardi Himal.
The Mardi Himal walk is located just east of the Annapurna Base Camp. Being an easy trek, yet it provides you a very authentic trekking feel. The trail covers various rhododendron trees up to 3,300 meters. Then it transforms into a mountainous landscape with Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. The highest point of the trail is 3,580m in Mardi Himal Base Camp. The trail offers an amazing view of the Annapurna Massif from the Base Camp. You can further hike up to High camp which is around 2 hours away.
Though Mardi Himal lies in the most rainfall area of Nepal, you can still go on this trek in Summer. The trail is the best destination to escape from hot Summer and enjoy nature.
As you will follow a solid trail, there’s near to no chance of Landslide. The rain only starts after mid day, so you will find zero hassle in trekking. Likewise, in Summer, you will find waterfalls and numerous swamp vegetations. Rare migratory birds, colorful funguses along with sprouting greenery can also be seen during this time of the year.
