Phulchowki - The Hill Covered with Flowers
In the spring, Phulchowki hill is covered with bunches of beautiful flowers including different colors of Rhododendron and wild roses.

Phulchowki, the hills of flower, is the highest hill station of Kathmandu valley and it is located in the southern part of the valley. The altitude of the hill is 2700 meters.
The viewpoint of Phulchowki hill is at the top which is under the protection of officials. There you can see a small pillar with the name and height of the hill. Above, prayer flags are tied that make you feel at peace. The view from the up top will leave you breathless and is worth the climb or the hike.
On a clear bright day, with the soaring blue sky above, you will feel as if you are on a hill over the clouds. And as the clouds start to spread away, the unforgettable snow-capped mountain ranges appear right in front of your eyes. Below, there is the entire Kathmandu valley with its beautiful shades of green vegetation and brown landscapes under the hill.

The name 'Phulchowki' itself identifies the hill as a 'hill of flowers'. The Rhododendrons in various colors and the Wild Roses are the most popular flowers that collect a lot of attention on this flower hill. Along them, the hill is filled with Iris, Yellow Jasmine and a lot of native flowers.
Since the flower blooms in spring, you can visit Phulchowki in between March and April. In the spring, the scenic beauty would also be clear because of the beautiful weather. Phulchowki is also a popular snowfall destination where many people visit to play with snow in winter.
